It’s been a long time since I came to visit and equally long since I did any creative writing. I had totally forgotten about it with all the training I’ve been doing. I used to write the blog Living as Herby but that was a long time ago.

The photo is kind of creepy to me …

    ***
The ghosts lurk nearby. Their hollow forms mirror his soul. Money has become his god and success his vice.

His children are long gone. They don’t even carry his name. Not because they are grown but because their mother helped them escape. She didn’t want the life he made: the money, the fame or the endless hours of work. She wanted love, quiet and simplicity. And she wasn’t going to let him take that from her babes.

The ghosts beckon. They know he will make the final leap.

The man who had everything will lose his soul. In one final act of greed he will become one of them.

Very chilling! I like what you’ve written — I can feel it viscerally. It’s so nice to see you back here, Andrew. I’m glad you decided to do a little creative writing today (or yesterday). And thanks for sharing your creativity here!

http://society6.com/product/Three-Shadow-People-Terrify-a-Victim-During-an-Episode-of-Sleep-Paralysis_Print/ I found this and “pinned it” earlier today. It seems to go perfectly with this sculpture. It is not my own however it is apropos?

Wow. That’s an intense picture. I agree that it goes with this sculpture. Thanks for sharing it, Meg!
