Get Inspired

You can find a variety of inspirational devices over at Language is a Virus, including writing prompts, a character name generator, a poetry generator, the text collage, madlib poems, the haiku-a-tron and much more.  The site seems to have a slight goth vibe, but, even as a very un-gothlike writer, I’ve found plenty of inspiration here.

Hey, these are terrific and I most definitely am guilty of all 5. I clicked over to the article and his website, but it felt too self-helpy to attract me right now. I think I’m sticking with you as my creativity guru, if that’s ok.

Better watch what you call me — my head just expanded a hat size or two.

I must say that, while I sometimes find self-helpiness to be…helpful, I generally prefer humor and metaphorical musings as a motivator in creativity and other things.
